This pub is now called No.32, but it lacks anything decent which is a shame as it's got a unique location just off Goswell Road, near City University. There is no food and no atmosphere about the place. It all seems very tired, which is a shame as the decoration is fine. Sky came and went, the jukebox is now redundant. Everything is slapdash and it used to be pretty bad before. Avoid.

Friendly locals and staff. Ale is now Green King IPA and Abbotts. It reamains unreconstructed and now serves food and a decent well priced Sunday lunch. The pub is starting to attract new following because of theme nights and DJ's on Friday and Saturday Nights. The pool table is gone and there is no TV. So anyone wanting to watch sports should look elsewhere. Otherwise quaint and charming a way a pub should be.

Despite the signs outside saying Jack Beard's, inside the pub refers to itself on boards and menus as being the Oakley Arms. Puzzling.

Last review is accurate. Large, spacious, standard range of beers (Courage and Theakstons are the ales). Not much to say about this one - unless you lived in one of the blocks of flats next to it I doubt you'd have cause to go in.

Formerly the Oakley Arms.
Unreconstructed neigbourhood pub in desolate area away from the main drag. Fine for what it is, staff friendly and beer OK. Interesting decorative features in the gents and, I am told, the ladies.
