No Craig, I have been the Landlord since 2001 and regarding vespaboy, there are two sides to every story!

I did not and do not condone violence and on that occasion I asked the parties to move to different areas of the pub. Both were as bad as each other and it reminded me of being in my other job, a school teacher!

As for the Blackcurrant and soda, still 50p and we have bands every Sat night.

Well I was there to see a band on 27th July and I was insulted and threatened with physical violence by a " regular" who said it was a locals pub and they didn't want xxxxxxxx visiting just to see the bands. Worst still, the lanlord condoned the behavior of his "regular" - obviously spends a lot over the bar.
40 pubs a week closing - hope this is one of them soon.

Dating from the 18th century (when it was a coaching inn), this is Fair Oak's standout pub (although The Fox & Hounds is also worth a look). Nothing special to look at, it nevertheless has a decent atmosphere and at least a pair of ales on. Pride's a given, and last I was in there they had Bombardier on. It's essentially split, with two bars - one with TVs and seating, the other with one screen and a pool table. The landlord has a couple of big but friendly dogs. The only real downer is that it can get very smoky inside, during the winter. For the summer there's something of a beer garden, although it's basically a bit of decking in the car park...
