| Recently bought by a consortium of about half a dozen people from the village. For the first two weeks they were all in there working and the service was great. By about the third week waiting time to get served averaged about 5-6 minutes. Not because of the queue but because there was nobody to serve you. | This has been one of my favourite pubs over the years, and we were always guaranteed a warm welcome. Unfortunately, the Chequers has recently been sold. The service is now rock bottom, and I mean pretty much the worst I have ever experienced. The staff are surly and unwelcoming, so much so I was really embarrassed to have taken my father there for his birthday. I would honestly avoid this place like the plague. In fairness, the food was good (if over-priced), but you don't want to spend an afternoon in a terrible pub with good food, do you? Zorn - 26 Feb 2011 20:43 |
| That says it all "now open in the morning for coffee. take away pizza, and the great new black rock grill" There was me thinking it was a pub.
