user reviews of the Dam House Bar and Restaurant, Crookesmoor

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A reasonable bar set in the leafy confines of Crookes Valley Park. Popular with students and locals alike, although the more ale-inclined will be disappointed by the fare on offer. Usually a nice, unobtrusive place to watch the football on sky with a pint of Peeterman.

Fantasic views at this city centre hide away with free parking in the city!

Pick a nice day to have a meal looking over the park.

Good lunch menu from 3 and top notch fine dine in the evening.

No hype to this place, but it delivers to the select few who are lucky enough to find this secret retreat in Sheffield.

If there is a better location for a bar and restaurant in Sheffield then i haven't seen it. Nothing beats the Dam House beer garden in summer. Great food as well and not as expensive as i expected considering the surroundings. It's a bit hidden away but still a must visit for anyone.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but the pub is not Carlton Palmers, although he was one of the investors, and i believe he have some input into the pubs design. The pub opens from 12 till 11 midweek and till 12 at the weekend. Bar meals are served 12-6.30 Mon - Sat and the a'la carte menu is avaliable from 7pm - 10pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday lunch is 12-5. The monthly northern soul nights are riotous affairs, well worth a visit if you are into the scene, however spending a sunny afternoon drinking on the patio is also highly recomended, and the evening meals are, on the whole, of superb quality. The bar food can seem a little overpriced, but then consider this, you are in the finest beer garden in sheffield, overlooking crookes park and the dam.
