user reviews of the Milton Ale Shades, Gravesend

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Bit down at heel and grubby but has a certain charm. As mentioned below it's also known as the clean pot house. Have to deduct points for the revolting chelsea shirt on the wall. Good tattooist down the road by the way.

Don't agree with the below comment AT ALL. Great childhood memories here. The owners a really friendly and though the local riff raff are present occasionally i doesn't bring down the atmosphere in the slightest. Good ale and lively debate on political issues are a plenty.

This is my local and an absolute grotty dive that brings the area down (even further). This pub should be closed down and sold to a more responsible brewer/licensee to refurbish. Currently a local haunt of chavs mostly from the council estate up the road, sometimes to be found fighting outside or vandalising cars in the vicinity. Try the Canal Tavern or the Ship & Lobster which are passable alternatives in the vicinity.

Excellent Guiness and another one of the better local urban pubs. Friendly atmosphere

Locally known as The Clean Pot House. An average scruffy local. Courage Best and very cold Guinness.
