user reviews of the Roebuck, Nottingham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

As the only bearable Weatherpoons in Nottingham city centre it's almost inevitable that it's visited every once in a while. Nice and spacious, service can be very slow indeed. There's a good smoking area upstairs. The usual depressing alcoholics frequent it during the day. Of an evening the bouncers can be pretty gittish.

Very friendly staff, a credit to JDW. Good quality ale. Well worth a visit.

The Roebuck is tucked away down St James Street just a short walk away from the Bell. It's a handy pub to go to on a Friday/Saturday as the beer is cheap and the place so massive that you stand a good chance of getting a seat.
Not much atmosphere, because of it's size, but a nice enough pub in the Wetherspoons style.
The best thing about the place is the beer; they do excellent local beer from the "Nottingham Brewery", if they have 'EPA' then I would recommend several of those!
