I like this pub. It has a good atmosphere with friendly staff. The music can be quite loud at times tho but overall it's not bad. Worth a visit. Good range of beer and reasonably priced when compared to the alma across the road.

Popped in here recently looking for Sunday lunch and can only say I won't be returning. Got my lunch but it would have been better value in a number of the areas "greasy spoons" Ordered the pork, described as organic hand reared etc etc, well it may well have been but it was so overcooked and tough it could have been a frozen supermarket joint and the portion size would have left a toddler hungry! And the pile of overdone veg, watery gravy, brittle Yorkshire pud and three small barely-browned spuds didn't help either. Nowhere near value for money.
Decidedly indifferent service from a mainly teenage staff more interested in chatting to one another than serving was another turnoff, as was the constant badgering for feedback (chance to win a meal for two? No thanks, knowing my luck I probably would!!)A decent glass of wine was the only bright spot in an otherwise depressing visit, and there's plenty of places in the triangle that can provide that with a decent meal too!

It is a great shame, but I have just been disappointed too many times with this pub. I find the staff excessively laid back, with an arrogant indifferent attitude, and not professionally service minded. I reckon they have somehow become complacent and too lucky for their own good.

I came there on New Years eve and wanted to buy a bottle of Champagne for four friends at 23:40 only to be told that the staff had taken a break and there was no more servings till after 00:00. No Champagne, no wine no nothing. ? Could you imagine this kind of service and attitude in a trendy funloving bar/pub in Barcelona, Copenhagen or Berlin!? No. The times I have eaten there, we have had to wait up to 40min.only to be served the incorrect dishes with a careless shrug. But, saying that IF you really like staff with lots of piercing, tattoos and dirty finger nails/hands, then you will love this place. I am not going there again: lots of other & far better venues in Crystal Palace. Best of luck to any new management - anytime soon!

Seems to have improved of late, it had 2 Dark Star ales on at the weekend, the last time I went in here all the real ale was off and that was in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday! If it keeps serving up good ales such as the Dark Star range the I'll be back for sure!
