user reviews of the Boy and Barrel, Selby

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Visited this pub recently. Beer was the usual John Smiths/Strongbow/Fosters etc and the Strongbow was off. The two lads running the pub were using the jukebox to play rave music at ear-splitting volume, which I suppose is a matter of taste. As I left I took a photograph of the pub sign, because I like pub signs. Shortly afterwards, as I was walking back home, one of the lads working in the pub raced up to me and aggressively demanded that I delete the picture. I showed him the picture. It was of the sign and nothing else. When I asked why he wanted the photo deleting he wouldn't tell me. I deleted it anyway. There are some funny people out there. You'd think that taking a photo of a sign in a public place wasn't really that awful, but he seemed paranoid about anyone taking any photos of the pub. In short, the pub was nothing special and the people running it were aggressive and hostile. I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone!
