We have previously enjoyed meals here but they have now changed their menus. At the moment (June 18, 2011), they are offering a FIXED MENU of either one course, two courses or three courses.
My boyfriend's starter - talk about minimalistic - the most evident substance on the plate was the wiggly cross-hated whirl of sauce.
His main meal was similarly difficult to make out, so miniscule was the serving.
Evne presuming this was meant to be nouveau cuisine, value for money was very very poor simply because there was little food on the plate!
I had to throw him scraps from my - a little bit more substantial, offering, from the alternative menu, I felt so sorry for him.
Also, another irritation was that we had to go hunt for our own menus as no one thought to provide us with one.
Expensive, not value for money, and sometimes rather dusty in the corners.

An overpriced, soulless, eating establishment.
Had a pint with friends here 2 weeks ago, havent been able to afford to go out since! Did have the pleasure of listening to a conversation between two waitresses though, discussing how much they hated working there.

I have visited this place twice now in the last 2 months and am disappointed by the atmosphere.

its obviously a food pub - the tables are pre laid with cutlery, napkins and wine glasses - which screams out - NO DRINKERS WANTED. Unfortunately that also puts me off going in for a meal in the future.

Staff not very friendly either.

I had a disappointing visit 4 years ago but thought I would give it a try again and it still has not improved. Food awful and poor value for money. Staff think they are above you and not in the least bit friendly even when you are making an effort! Dont waste your money here. Location and surroundings of the pub are fantastic but the service and food are far from it. Admitedly there was one friendly member of staff; but the woman behind the bar was most ignorant and up herself considering she was a bar maid (not that that is a bad thing I have have been one myself). My family and I were made to feel an inconvenience and like we were something from the bottom of her shoe, I will never ever eat or drink here again and would encourage you to do the same. Apologies if I have ranted on but in true British style I was super polite and did not complain at the time and came away kicking myself and I had to get it off my chest!!!
