Nice enough pub, busy, good atmosphere. Music channels on the telly that were turned over every ten minutes or so, annoyingly. Lack of free seats so we sat in the bay window on a bench with cushions. It was nice and comfy for all of five minutes until one of the bar staff came and took the cushions away from us because we are apparently only allowed to have cushions in the daytime. At that point we decided not to get another drink, we went home as we have lots of cushions there to sit on in the nighttime. Shame, really.

There is a sign on the place describing it as an 'Ancient Coaching Inn' - the interior would suggest it is anything but. Very 'nouveau' with a 'young' clinetelle - although there were 3 ales on and the Youngs Special (Pride & Black Sheep being the others) was quite drinkable. Plenty of television screens but not much point having them when the only sound is the music that the bar staff want to listen to.

Does anyone know if this place now called 'The Stables'?

I like this place. Good beer, very busy with an extensive outdoor area. Has plenty of character.

A nice place to go on a warm night, tables & seats outside, good decor inside. There are funky blue lights at one end that make you feel more intoxicated than you are, but the music's ok & prices not too bad (well, compared to London bars anyway!) Young crowd, some looked about 15 but generally a good vibe.
