Visited yesterday on a crawl of Sherborne. Cheap prices ,though my mates complained about the quality of the Beer. lowerbourneshot - 10 Jul 2016 20:47 |
The comments i have read are certainly true. I found it incredibaly strange that right in the centre of this beautiful town with a quirky market outside it's front door that there was a pub like this. I would have expected a much more upmarket place here. We were lucky to get a quiet seat in the corner as the place was full of idiots. Having said all that we did actually have a good time in here and the Carlsberg was only £2.60 a pint. 5/10 montie49 - 6 Apr 2014 13:53 |
Update: Under the capable management of the ever-smiling Adare, the pub has improved considerably -- the Old Empire is a good strong beer and the Ringwood Best is a solid regular. It's the friendliest pub in Sherborne and a great place to meet the locals in all their glorious eccentricity. The food is still ping and ding -- Marston's need to do something about this and about the loos which are antiquated and in need of an overhaul. cerveza65 - 21 Sep 2013 10:55 |
Has had relief managers over past month. All professional, friendly and the bitter beers have both improved in quality. Cold San Miguel also very good if pricey. Carlsberg 2.20 a pint. Nice atmosphere, sunny location, handy for market. Haven't tried food recently but seems like pub is on the upturn. Hope so as it is my local! cerveza65 - 30 Jun 2013 09:45 |
