visited here on the 22nd sept 2007, he bar part of the pub was packed solid so we went to the restaurant side. very nice set up, there were approx eight people in at that time around 6.00 pm. there were three of us, we were told to take a seat as there was a coach party due, we sat down were we found out later on leaving thats were the staff sit to eat there meals. The table was not clean and evidence of food left on it. We only had to wait a short time and then shown to our table, there was no one in the place and whilst there no coach party arrived.
we placed our order and waited some time, I only wanted jacket potatoes. Whilst waiting we observed the team leader/manageress getting completley stressed out and this reflected on the young staff that were waiting on. They were very good, bearing in mind there were hardly any customers there.
My jacket potatoes arrived and were very dry, it took some time to attract the attention of the staff, they were too busy watching stress head watching them. I asked for some butter of which they promptly provided. There were bones in he bacon and the potatoes (microwaved) were over cooked.
Tried to get there attention again, young lad came explained it was like cutting through wood, he went away spoke to a senior member of staff, came back and said we would not be charged for that meal. We were not offered a sweets menu or offered any more drinks and they proceeded to give us our bill.
No customer care what so ever. What a shame such a lovely place.needeless to say the caoch party never arrived.
