| This was the pub I had my first pint in back in the early 80s. The landlord at the time was called Edgar and was v.partial to a drink (or 10) himself. In those days the pub had a bar corridor, a snug, a taproom and a small lounge and outside toilets. Eventually it was bought by Frank Lee who stripped it back to bare bones & extended it...we now have inside toilets. This pub has been closed for a number of years now and as I type on the 25th Jan 2017 is falling apart, the roof has totally collapsed. The main reason for it's demise is due to the demographic as I would guess that 90% of the locals do not drink alcohol due to religious ethics. Shame (tear in my eye). Desmin - 25 Jan 2017 13:20 |
