user reviews of the Greyhound, Tong

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Awful food. Consistently. Beer is OK and is OK for general drinking but I've been on many an occasion and the food is terrible.

The last time I went, the chicken seemed to have been through several cycles of re-heating and when I said so when the waitress came at the end was told that I should have said something during the meal. Nothing further was offered. Hang on, aren't I the customer? I didn't want to disturb the other two I was seated with and put them off their food (Afterwards they said that theirs was terrible too!)

Gladly I live between Pudsey and Tong and closest to me are the Bankhouse and The Fleece, both excellent for drinking and the Bankhouse has good food too.

Incidentally, I've never posted a comment like this but the food was sooooo terrible and the staff unconcerned that it really should have been a clip round the ear for chef, I felt I had to. If they gave up doing food it'd probably get a slightly higher rating.

Very nice pub, nice customers and staff. Ignore all other comments, this pub is lovey, old fashioned and worth a visit (or two!)

Lovely building inside. However the beer was VERY POOR. Tried the Jennings Cumberland, Black Sheep Bitter, and finally the Tetley Bitter on the basis that this is an ex Tetley's House. They were notably poor! I guess the 'lines' had not been cleaned out regularly. A shame as this could be an excellent Pub

Dreadful, snobby, clientele, good beers but poorly kept (warm Timothy Taylors). Stone-flagged floor. Great if you like Toby Mugs. This is by far the most unfriendly pub anywhere in the west Leeds area, and I have given it many chances over the years.
