A decent village pub with a large seating area outside. Food very good, if a tad pricey. Two well kept cask ales available. Certainly worth a visit again.

Absolutely the worst meal I have ever had. It was a Friday lunchtime and very cold and raining but pub was cold with radiators switched off. Asked for prawns but told the kitchen didn't have any. Hot Roast beef baguette was tough as old shoe leather. Pot of tea advertised on this months internet menu as Jan 2012 at 1.50 but they actually charged 3.70 for two pots.
Creamy lancashire cheese actually tasted like cheap cheddar!! As for atmosphere? Nobody else in at 12.45 on Fri lunch probably says it all. Cold bleak and not a very nice place to be. Positive points- bar staff very friendly.Home made chips fine.

I have been to the Duke William on numerous occasions now, with my husband and children as well as meeting my girlfriends for lunch.
I can honestly say that I have always enjoyed the atmosphere, staff, service and food and would recommend it!!
Having eaten in many pubs/restaurants over the years, The Duke's menu is fresh and of excellent quality without paying over the odds. There is sometimes a wait, but at least you are assured that everything you order os cooked fresh - And you can tell.
Jamie (the landlord) always gives a warm welcome and this also shines from his staff. My children really enjoy the childrens menu, as again it is fresh and tasty.
My husband is a bitter drinker and he says that the beer is kept lovely.
Thank you for bringing the Duke back to life and good luck for the future :)
