Now the Grain Store. Unfashionable but enjoyable Greene King take on a craft bar. Have just had excellent Psner Urquell and Red Squirrel American Red IPA for decent price - very good, as was burger.

The reason it is called the Avery is because before it was part of The Hogshead pub chain it was Avery Scales factory. Not much weighing done there now. Hardly worth a visit with lots of other stuff going on around. Better to pass by and make it to Wetherspoons.

This is now known as "The Avery" but everyone I know in Cambridge still call it "The Hogshead"

The site of a famous argument between Phillips & Greaves. An anodyne fitout, no atmosphere, bog-standard microwaved generic pub food and predictable high street drink selection combine to create a truly forgettable pub experience. Quite why I always seem to meet up with P & G there is beyond me but no doubt I will spend several more miserable evenings there over the coming years. At least Parker's Piece offers lots of student-baiting for Greaves, as after a few pints of 6X he's a law unto himself.

My second home. I know every nook & cranny, which means I spend far too much time here. A favourite haunt for Businesses that are close by mine until recently as I have now moved. But itís a great place to go with friends or to make new friends. They have recently had a renovation off the place, which has made it very nice indeed. This place will always have a place in my heart.
