| A one doomed pub which isn't too no. It has posters of Irish writers, flags of Irish counties (or clans may be), Guinness, memorabilia to powers whisky, no bollocks about the Irish rebels or Celtic, no plastic paddy stuff. I went for Guinness at 4.60, pretty decent but I've had better, and it is steep, it is served from a unique looking pump. Seemed lime a few locals in when I was in. | As much as the owners of this pub do their best to create an Irish pub in the middle of Manchester, it is not and will never be Ireland. I therefore question how a pub in England, (be it Mulligans or any other) can claim to be Irish? | Excellent for the weekends, it's a proper Dublin boozer in the city centre and makes a huge change from the usual choice of drunk infested Wetherspoons or uppity wine bars. Clientele varies from solicitors to the travelling Irish Man Utd fans for every home game (it's predominantly a Man U pub) and apparently they're doing airport collections for fans now. Food is top notch and reasonably priced, varied selection. As we've all read before, it does serve without doubt the best Guinness in Manchester. GAA and 3pm Saturday matches shown. | This pub was an Irish bar long before they became popular and it still is despite the decline of many of the upstarts. It�s a long thin room with seating areas to front and rear. There are several large screen TVs which were showing American racing last night with an audience of none, the sound was muted though. It�s an OK pint of Guinness but the red wine is total crap, don�t buy it! It�s a bit rough and ready as are some of the clientele but its OK. ROBCamra - 13 Nov 2009 10:43 |
