Great local pub. Extremely welcoming. Great beers such as Oxford Gold and Cockahoop. New managers due to take over at the end of October with new guest beers and building on cask ales. Has live entertainment and I am reliably informed more live entertainment is planned. Have an updated Facebook page so watch their page for news and events

As has been said in other reviews this is a very friendly very local small pub. Very nice indeed. Enjoyed a nice pint of Snecklifter, my favorite, but they also ha Cocker Hoop on along with some other paler ales, a nice mix. There was a small band of merry locals at the bar when we entered and within five minutes we were caught up in the conversation. Have been calling into Shrewsbury for the last 10 years doing various different pub crawls and never knew this pub existed until driving past on the last visit. Will be calling in more often. You can walk into town easily too either along the riverside and under the railway bridge or over the footbridge to the castle.

Every town needs a pub like this. Probably one of the best pubs I/We have visited. Beer always spot on, this week it was Okells Premium Steam Beer and Hook Norton Cotswold Lion as 'guests'. Staff and locals very friendly and remembered us from our last visit as if we had never been away! The last of seven(?) pubs in this part of Castlefields, long may it prosper!

A proper pub. Very friendly locals. Worth seeking out. Not far from the station.

Nice 'locals' Marston pub in a quiet back street, two rooms, friendly bar staff and customers, nice and comfortable. 4 hand pumps, we had Everards 'Equinox' and St Austell 'Trelawny Gold' both were good.
