10 out of 10 to Joe Macs Bar, Portadown. I was staying over last Saturday night with friends in Portadown. We decided to head to Joe Macs for tea and some drinks. This is a great bar, all done up inside to look like an old Irish Cottage. They were doing a steak deal on Saturday night, so we all had the steak with trimmings. 1 rare, 2 medium and 1 well done. Every steak was cooked exactly as ordered and everyone agreed they were very tasty. We had a selection of garlic fries, onion rings, mushrooms and Chef's selection of vegetables. We started off with a nice bottle of house red among the 4 the of us. After our meal instead of desserts we had 2 Irish and 2 Calypso coffee's, which were made with care and maybe the best I have ever tasted. I could fill a page with praise for Joe Macs, but I will end with. Joe Macs I give you 10 out of 10 for Service, Food, Value and Decor.

first walked into this bar looking forward to a lovely sunday roast but came away very dissappointed!! and still hungry...manger/aka as the bar woman working on 22-08-2010 around 3.30pm on wards was extermely rude as my aunt ordered a pint of duilted orange and we found wat resembled 2small flies!! in the orange when we approched the bar woman and asked her to pls change it her reply was "that wasnt in that when i brought it over to you" when really it wasnt her that brought it to us!! in actual fact it was the young waitress who was trying to be helpfull that brought it to us. my aunt also ordered sizzling chicken with peppercorn sauce which was meant to be served on a bed of onions when we finally recieved the food there was no onions and the chicken was burnt but my aunt asked us not to complain! as we didnt want any trouble but when she took a smalll piece of the chicken frm a part that didnt look burnt my aunt said "im sorry folks but i can eat this its burnt right through!! and i can taste it so we asked the young waitress to pls change but when she took it to the bar woman she replyed "its not burnt its sizzling!!! at this point my aunt had had enough saying "dont bother replacing it"so she paid for her daughters food&both there drinks...and said too us "i will never be bk here as the food has went downhill big time!!! as it was my aunt that recommeded joe macs to us and to alot of her friends. any way we all left and headed to friar tucks in lurgan and beleive it or not me my bro&his gf had to have something outta friar tucks as we were all still hungry!! wouldnt recommed joe macs to a poor dog paula

great place on a saturday night. Food is good, bands are usually good. Staff are pleasant and very welcoming. The usual regualrs are friendly and a good laugh.

There is one waitress that has been quite pleasant when I have been in for meals, food is not bad, used to be better. But I have sat in this bar in the evening, and you would get the impression that the staff actually hated you!

Not the best place to go in portadown would recommend tiplers, bennets, Jamesons or even Mc Convillies, for example went to go in to Joe Macs tonight about 11.30 (09/11/2008) to be told it was closed by a little troll with a stinking attitude at the gate on main street at (with gate closed over). Closed at 11.30 on a saturday pathetic............ Head elsewhere portadown has much more to offer. Recommend in order Jamesons, Tiplers, Bennets, Mc Convilles
