Fortunately we managed to complete our 8 mile circular walk before the heavens opened. So no drying out required before going into the pub. Good pint of Hooky for £3.65 (Eagle IPA also on sale) and chicken, ham and leek pie was £8.45. Traditional, no frills hostelry with reasonably priced pub grub - a rarity around these parts.

Unfortunately I cannot vouch for the quality of its meals or ales (though they have a good selection). On Sunday 26 August 2012 I entered the bar at about 18:00 and asked what the closing time was that day. I was told, "about 23:00," and 22:30 was confirmed on the doors, as I found out later. When we returned at 21:00 the whole place was shut and in darkness. Disgruntled, I knocked on the door and asked why the pub was closed. I was told, "we always close early if no-one is about." I asked why I had not been told that when I enquired in the first place. The man had no intelligible answer. BOATERS beware. If you moor here and expect a few pints in the evening in normal pub hours, don't trust what you are told. It cannot be relied upon.

I would have whole heartedly agreed with the last review, about this public house. However since my experience in this public house of the most unhospitable, rude, vile and sour faced bar staff ever known to man, at which point I decided I would never return to give them my money ever again!
I have since returned to the Navigation Inn (not by my own choice) and found the establishment to have had a complete change of attitude with new, welcoming, polite, friendly and attractive staff behind the bar. I am glad I did return because despite the old bar staff that used to drag it down and give it a bad reputation this pub is a lovely friendly little local, with good food, good prices and a now nice atmosphere.

The opening lines on the web-site for the Navigation Inn are The Navigation Inn is a charming country pub and restaurant, set in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside Oh only if this was true! The front of house staff are as welcoming as a veruca on ones foot and atmosphere is similar as being in the local morgue. God forbid if you should find yourself arriving a little later say after 9 oclock as it is regularly closed after the last meal is served. Also be careful not to relax to long in the beer garden as the landlord Nicholas Brown likes his car park to be empty overnight and should you take a taxi home you will arrive the next day to find a note under your windscreen asking for a five pound parking fee and informing you that overnight parking is forbidden. Which is quite surprising as there are no signs indicating these finer points? My personal recommendation is if you can walk 5 more minutes into Wootton Waren your find a more welcome establishment with good food and great atmosphere.

Ok, this used to be my local so I may be biased...

It is canalside and has a great walk along the canal after dinner, the beer garden is surprisingly peaceful even if the pub itself is on the main road.

The pub itself could do with a little renovation and is decorated in a typical pub style, it has a lounge area with a lovely log burner and a restaurant. The service is always friendly, and the food is always consistantly good value (it is reasonable cheap, basic fare).
