This place hasnt been reviewed for nearly 2 years and contrary to the last reviews I can think of lots of bad things to say about it. It is undergoing a refurbishment in one room at the moment so it may well change but. Its a tatty, sticky floor(even on a Wednesday) place with a mixture of comfortable seating at the back of the main room and high tables with bar stools in the front part. Everywhere looks dated and would be seriously improved by turning the bright lights off. Cheap and nasty decorations on the wall dont help. It does have loads of TV screens and was probably heaving later on when the Chelsea vs Barca game started. Nothing of any interest on the bar with Carling being 2.75 which is a bit steep for the worst lager in the world. Its a bit of a dump to be honest, in fact its the worst Walkabout that Ive ever been in and that takes some doing for a chain of poor bars.

staff always great, decent prices and a massive projector screen for sports. they always have loads of different channels on to. nice outdoor area for the summer, currently they seem to be re-doing the floor which was looking a bit worn.

Walkabout Wolves is looking very tired and worn now and does not seem as busy But please do not let me detract you. I really cannot think of a bad thing about this bar apart from the cramped toilets and worn drabness, the staff appear to be well trained and polite and to whom i belive is the manager is very customer aware, A small refurbish and sort out the tvs and this place can be a force again. Well beens as I seem to be doing the rounds at the minute I'll make a 3rd post. I've not been in Wolverhampton for long and to be honest I've been in even less of the pubs but of the 4/5 I have been in this is by far the best. So much so in fact that I've been here 3 times now. Of the other's I've been in the RL the V the HH and the WS.

I first came in for food which when looking at the menu I thought was a bit pricey, but I ordered anyway because I was hungry.... well what a delight that was not only was it extremely well presented but it tasted superb. The staff were friendly and polite and even took the time to come and check to see if I needed more sauces bringing over what a refreshing change from all these help yourself to sauces type of venues which I seem to always gravitate too.

My beer was cold the pub was at a nice temperature and there was a beer garden, although a little smaller than the country pubs that I grew up around but it was well laid out and maintained.

My next visit was on an a Saturday night, I got held up in the queueueueueue (hehhe never get that one right) we got held up for a couple of minutes whilst the doorteam and a manager (i assume) removed a gentleman from the premises, I've never seen someone remain so calm when someone is shouting and bawling at you the manager guy just stood there and calmly explained to this guy over and over again why he had been thrown out and when the guy wouldn't move away from the door he just turned around called on a radio and about 40 seconds later the police pulled up. How sweet is that.

Inside it was rammed on 2 floors and the beer garden was open, it took a while to get served but hey you expect that sometimes but when I got there I was served quickly and correctly and again the staff were polite.

For me although it's not perfect I do like it here and as I said above in my opinion it is the best I've been in so far.
