Great local pub especially when the sun is out - big garden for kids. Staff are good and food is average but cheap and cheeful.

The manageress mentioned above is no longer at the plough and harrow. The new manager is friendly and welcoming. The beer is excellent and the atmosphere feels like a community pub again. Well worth a revisit if you have not already done so.

Very very disapointing evening spent at this pub. 10 of us were dining as it was a faimly get together for a special occasion. Manageresses attitude was very disapointing. No sense of humour and made us feel like it was trouble to even take the sweet order. Staff looked like they didn't want to be there but didn't blame them at all. Shame because this spoilt the evening completely. Paid a lot of money for a not very special evening at all in quite dull surroundings and got to the point when no-one in the group wanted to go to the bar again because of the atmosphere so we all left a lot earlier than planned.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to buy a large round of drinks and chuck it over the landlord of this pub, but this was five years ago now and the brewery by right got rid of him! The place is far better now with a good selection of beers, ales and food. Very friendly staff as well makes this place a worthwhile visit for a lunchtime pint and some grub!
