user reviews of the Vine, West Bromwich

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Very confusing. Don't get mixed up with (the excellent) The Vine on Roebuck Street, which answers to a superficially similar description.

I know that well (handy for the Park Inn hotel) and can recommend it highly. This sounds OK too but have not visited yet.

T his could qualify for the most schizophrenic pub in the country - half traditional local with some very cosy snugs, half school dining hall. The food comes highly recommended but I'm not bothered about that - there were two handpulls, serving Holden's Golden Glow and one of their seasonal brews. Both were on top form, which is particularly commendable is the aforementioned food seems to be the reason why most customers visit. It might make for an odd drinking experience but if it keeps a good pub going in an unattractive area then fair enough.

Been meaning to come here on match day for a long time. Its mad - they must make all their money on one Saturday every fortnight. The pub has extension upon extension, making it rather a rambling experience but we need somewhere to house all those Baggie fans. Food menu (indian and indoor BBQ) looked very interesting.

An experience.

This guy really knows how to keep a decent pint!
Spent a lot of money building new toilets and a big extension to the bar area.
It is very much a locals pub though so do expect a few curious looks if you visit, but all the locals are friedly. Warm atmosphere, never had a bad drink here.
