Adding to the previous review... don't go too late or the kitchen will have closed!

Saying that, the very accommodating man behind the bar managed to rustle up some caustically hot but delicious samosas which went down very well with a pint of Sharp's Atlantic.

Food`s quality, don`t go too late or you won`t get a table!

Used this pub years ago before they developed the Mailbox, closed about the same time. Was a sort of traditional boozer - not masses to commend it for to be honest, glad to say though it`s reopened. It`s got quite a bland uninspiring interior, couple of ales on, brand beers. Suppose it`s a bit like the Hen and Chickens on Constitution Hill, geared up for Asian food...until I`ve had some I`ll reserve comment on that aspect, useful that it`s across the Street from the Craven.

The 'Gough Arms' has indeed been closed for a couple of years, at least. It re-opened during the summer of 2014 as 'The Keg and Grill', and states that it serves real ale and food all day. I looked in briefly while passing, and it did indeed have a couple of hand pumps on the bar. I intend to pay a proper visit when I'm next going to the 'Craven Arms' across the road.

Looked closed at the weekend - no activity on Saturday lunchtime, and a To Let board outside
