In Macc last Saturday to watch Boreham Wood, who performed a more than passable impersonation of George Graham's Arsenal in despatching the high-flying Silkmen 2-0.
A short wait for the train back south, so I nipped in here. Ironic cheers as Ing-Ger-Lund eventually managed to breach the Maltese defence in a World Cup qualifier.
Just time for the one: a pint of Trooper's "Red & Black", which I hadn't had before. It might have been the best pint I've had this year.
Dizzy Blonde and Unicorn also on at the pumps nearest the door. Looked an OK pub.

Always a live band, covers normally, when I pass it. Popped in to try the Unicorn which is OK, might have been better to go for Trooper since there's an iron Maiden tribute on. Pleasant enough part of Macc's classic pub circuit.

One of your typical Saturday night out in Macc locals pubs. Poor ale, someone practising badly on the drums and a few characters from 'Shameless' floating about. The Robinsons Unicorn I had was bad enough to leave half behind.

Very handy for the station, well kept ales (on my visit anyway) and spotlessly clean. The decor in the gents can keep you there for a while if it's your thing.... Not brilliant, but above average.

Great pub opposite the station. Lovely building, superb floor tiling (as with most Robinsons pubs). Beer in good condition. Sky footy. Pool table. Darts.

A good honest british pub.
