Came back her after a 3 year absence and not sure about the change!
Used to come here after a night out for a few whiskies as the bar staff knew how to guide you!
Last night the guidance was to point at one whisky menu stuck on bar!
Does look very well updated but can't see what's been gained!

Now promoted as a craft beer establishment and shortened to just 'Gait', this pub does have some real ales. Although it was one of the pricier establishments I found in Edinburgh. The interior is fairly modern, but retains some religious artefacts as befitted it's previous name. Ales were An Teallach Crofters Pale Ale & An Teallach Ale, Born In The Borders Holy Cow, Old Worthy Wild Bill's Aces & Eights Salted Chocolate Stout, Windswept Blonde & Natural Selection Bitter Descent. Lacked atmosphere. But certainly has a good selection of ales - both real and craft.

@ Nokegthanks

I think Farage's supporters are too busy smoking and gobbing outside the door in the sleet to worry about beer quality.

:D

Seems the boy Farage, (he of UKIP) encountered some protesters here, hope the beer is better than his politics!

If you like you modern pub then give this a visit but it is not to my liking. Background music was pleasant and not intrusive (vinyl played on a turntable). Beer was passable. Overall I was a bit disappointed. May come here again if only to see if things have got better.
