user reviews of the Cheshire Midland Hotel, Hale

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Closed down over the summer, because of a visit by Sam Smith spies, or possibly even the owner Humphrey Smith himself, who heard swearing and/or saw mobiles being used.

Humphrey Smith: a roaring bellend.

Sam Smith beers. Okay, not my favourite, but really cheap.

Generally this pub is okay. Some proper weird locals on occasion, but a mixture of clientele, and never seen any trouble in there myself.

Quiz machine is crap these days, barely any games, but if you fancy a game at least you have the option.

Like all pubs should be; completely unpretentious, room to sit/stand and chat with superb beer in a music/games free atmosphere.
Every time I visit I worry that someone will have taken it over and got a refit crew in to ruin it - thus far thank the Merciful Lord not!

Went there when I was in the area on business - made to feel welcome ..even for a southerner !

As laid back, old-school and generally welcoming as Hale gets! Great prices, a warm, slightly too well-lit interior.

Beers are all Samuel Smith - which is no bad thing.
