user reviews of the Abbotsford, Perth

I went to the abbortsford with some long term friends this st patricks day . The least I can say is that atmosphere was absolutely brilliant !!!! Apart from the fantastic music that was live and catchy, the bar service was charming, Chic and Peggy , the owner operators are a lovely pair who make you feel utterly at home. They were more than accommodating of a single american traveling through scotland such as myself. In fact , within 20 minutes I had been welcomed into a group of locals who bought a round and welcomed me , in fact I nearly left my crew who I was there with ! Then later irish stew was served, made by Chics mother ' Annie' and I think peggy his wife as well. It was brilliant and all part of the fun of st paddys!!!!

A brilliant little local, charming , fun and accommodating and very well prices. Comfortable as well.

A must go for anyone in the capital.

Would recommend that you eat before as all that is on offer daily is crisps and pies however.

Newly redecorated. New carpet, new wallpaper, new manager - except it's the same one who left and has now returned. Some tosser has already put graffiti on the walls in the gents. Hotel prices - local pub service.

The first pub I ever got served in. Now in London. Went back to Abbotsford for old time's sake a couple of years ago. Same old decor, same old Abbotsford. A bit of a toilet really.

GREAT BEER, GREAT SELECTION OF SPIRITS AND VERY GOOD SERVICE - EXCEPT - DON'T GET THE ASSISTANT MANAGER AS HE WORKS TO HIS OWN PACE, HIS OWN MOODS AND HIS OWN STYLE - NEEDS TO BE TALKED TO BY MANAGEMENT! THE ATMOSPHERE IS GREAT NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY, AND THE LICENSEE CANNOT DO ENOUGH TO HELP YOU.
WORTH A VISIT - UNLESS THE ASSISTANT MANAGER IS WORKING.OK IF YOU ARE A TOURIST, BUT IF YOU ARE A LOCAL - BEWARE!
