Overall, a decent bar and restaurant with well kept cask ales and a decent food menu. The one drawback is it seems to randomly close early as soon as the diners leave and it quietens down. ale_x - 8 Jul 2023 22:30 |
This place has a vaguely art deco feel to it. It appears to be mainly a dining establishment. But drinkers are taken care of and I imagine it becomes more of a bar later in the evening. Silver Street Ruby & Old J Spiced Rum Porter, Pennine Yule Pride & Timothy Taylor Landlord were the 4 ales. The Porter was excellent. I was warned off this place. But I'm glad I didn't heed the warning, as this is another decent town centre bar in Bury. blue_scrumpy - 14 Jan 2016 21:59 |
Bustling restaurant/cafe/bar - 3 or 4 ales on the go - back end of East Lancs Rail Ale trail...people really seemed to be enjoying themselves - thumbs up for Bury. kernott1 - 29 Sep 2013 09:52 |
4 real ales and plenty of belgian beers, though rather aimed at the eating market, at least during the day (all tables with cutlery on and no stools at the bar). The Irwell 3 Bad Shepherds was on good form. In the 2012 GBG. oftenscore6 - 4 Dec 2011 15:14 |
Easily the best bar in Bury. Comfortable and contemporary it offers decent food and a good choice of drinks. Even better since they started selling real ales. Tysonthebeerhound - 16 Aug 2009 13:56 |
