Despite its austere frontage it was a pleasant little pub with a good selection of beers at reasonable prices. Unpretentious but worth a visit. maybe - 13 May 2015 09:19 |
Very good pub. Very wide selection of ales, with the local brew very keenly priced! Unlike many places that specialise in ale, this is actually somewhere my wife would approve of - the decor is reasonably contemporary and ambience friendly! Worth a visit. Stevo_de_la_hayes - 19 Sep 2013 16:29 |
Decent ales at excellent prices, not too keen on the open plan layout but you can't have everything I suppose! alexw - 28 Oct 2012 19:09 |
Good choice of beers, but I don't like the layout. It seems to be a traditional snug, bar and lounge boozer that has had some of the internal walls ripped out to make it open-plan. I can't help feeling it would have been much better if left alone. Fuchsia coloured walls and patterned wallpaper too. Nice. If I'm in Slaithwaite again I may pop in, but I wouldn't make a special effort to go there. soupcon - 18 Mar 2011 23:07 |
Good choice of beers, all from independent breweries. House beer from Empire Brewery (200yds along the canal) is only 1.90 a pint. Railways station 5 mins up the hill and a bus stop for Huddersfield very close. arihall - 4 Nov 2010 18:41 |
