Decent pint of Brakspears drank on the very pleasant patio area. Rather glad we didn't stay for a second because service at the bar seemed to be getting very slow.

Garden is popular, but something is not right with the beers on tap. Always make sure that the pint you are getting is "fresh" and not "one that was prepared earlier" - it's not all bad, but prefer others

This is a decent pub, serving good food... My friends drink Ale and they've never reported a bad pint (Brakespears and Hog-Goblin)... My only complaint is the lack of choice in Draught Lager - Stella, or Fosters... both of which I dislike but I suffer the 'skippy-piss'... Other pubs in the area also serve Carling...
No-One seems to serve Carlsberg though... Yet it is supposed to be the UK's most popular lager!?!?!?

It is more a pub you would go to with friends, or if you've pre-arranged to meet people there... I am not sure why, but it isn't the friendliest pub in town to newcomers - which is a shame...

Best pub I've tried so far, since moving here a year or so ago. Better than the awful Jolly Farmer. Good food too. Had some really blunt service here though, which is my only real complaint. That's when it was quiet. Couldn't help but feel that it was because I was a new face.

great pub, although will struggle to get a seat in the garden during the nice weather. best food in the town.
