user reviews of the Risley Park, Risley

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Food was decent but not cheap. Service is mixed. We were charged 9.48 at the Risley Pk for a pint of Bass and a Baileys and when I queried this was told it was not a mistake. To compare, the hotel charged around 6.50 for the same round later on. If you are staying at the Risley Hall I recommend you eat and drink at the hotel (excellent food and attractive surroundings) and take a trip into Breaston (Navigation and Bulls Head) or Stanton (Chequers and Stanhope Arms) if you want a change of surroundings later on.

My partner and I were staying at The Risley Hall Hotel at the weekend and chose to go to The Risley Park on our first evening for something to eat.

It was clean, nicely decorated, spacious and welcoming.

The staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Served a good selection of beer and wines including 3 real ales (handpumps).

An impressive menu, reasonably priced, with a choice to eat in the bar area or a seperate restaurant area.

Food orders were promptly served, and all food was well presented and delicious (including a perfectly cooked steak).

We enjoyed the surroundings and the food so much we returned for our second evening meal and drinks too.

Well recommended and would return in the future.

the wine was good, the waitress was polite, the food was diabolical - the steak was overcooked, the veg. appeared to be warmed up - will not be returning for food. ok for a drink though
