Hhmmm...bit of a change since I was last in. Was staying at Malmasion down the road and we popped in here for a drink, probably around half ten at night. The staff were very busy - cleaning up! The place was a whirlwind of activity and we got the impression we weren't wanted and that the (young-ish) staff had some pre-club bars they wanted to get to!

Nosh still good, though. Very popular and can be difficult to get a table.

Excellent pub nowadays. The beer is good. Decent staff and service. Sunday newspapers aplenty. The place has won several awards for its food. Therefore it can be difficult to get a seat sometimes as this place is popular.

Had dinner here last night - wowee! It was a gorgeous meal (haddock in a creamy sauce with mussels and bacon), served up by really friendly, smiling staff. Deuchars was in great condition, although I was sad to see the Bitter & Twisted pumpclip turned round. No music, lively chattery atmosphere. Even the puddings (chocolate brownie and lemon posset), so often the anti-climax to a good pub dinner, were superb. Looks as though everyone involved in this pub cares about their job. Despite being dead busy, the staff were attentive to just the right level, and genuinely friendly.

Its got one of the best and biggest breakfasts you will ever encounter , but it is really more a place for food than beer as theirs not so much space if youre not at a table .

Very attractive setting though and the guinness i had was perfect .

Another pub on the Shore where you don't think you should be sitting at a table if you're not eating. This has more of a pub feel than some others though. Four handpumps, two Cally's and two Harviestoun's, I had a decent pint of the Schiehallion.
