| Hhmmm...bit of a change since I was last in. Was staying at Malmasion down the road and we popped in here for a drink, probably around half ten at night. The staff were very busy - cleaning up! The place was a whirlwind of activity and we got the impression we weren't wanted and that the (young-ish) staff had some pre-club bars they wanted to get to! Nosh still good, though. | Excellent pub nowadays. The beer is good. Decent staff and service. Sunday newspapers aplenty. The place has won several awards for its food. Therefore it can be difficult to get a seat sometimes as this place is popular. droggs - 9 Jun 2010 05:59 |
| Had dinner here last night - wowee! It was a gorgeous meal (haddock in a creamy sauce with mussels and bacon), served up by really friendly, smiling staff. Deuchars was in great condition, although I was sad to see the Bitter & Twisted pumpclip turned round. No music, lively chattery atmosphere. Even the puddings (chocolate brownie and lemon posset), so often the anti-climax to a good pub dinner, were superb. Looks as though everyone involved in this pub cares about their job. | Its got one of the best and biggest breakfasts you will ever encounter , but it is really more a place for food than beer as theirs not so much space if youre not at a table . Very attractive setting though and the guinness i had was perfect . beersteer - 22 Jan 2010 14:03 |
