Went to this rejuvinated place a couple of weeks ago, and the refurbishment which apparently happened approx 9 months ago has made all the difference!! It was buzzing with atmosphere, nearly full on a wednesday, and both the food and service were spot on. I would highly recommend the sea bass filets (although it was a special) and my wife had a braised rib of beef - also brilliant! 40 for both of us - very happy, will return.

The Middlewood has recently been refurbished and renamed as "Springwood" (it's on Springwood Way). The new decor is much more pleasant than before and it's far less children friendly - the play area outside has been converted into a grassed drinking area.

Another poster complained about the service and good which was a real problem with the Middlewood. I'm pleased to report that it's much improved when we visited last night. We'll gloss over they'd run out of mushy peas and blackforest gateaux as they gave us a complimentary bowel of strawberries and the service was much better.

It seems as if nothing has changed at The Middlewood Brewers Fayre. My wife & i booked into the Premier Lodge for 4 nights Bed & Breakfast, for what we thought would be a nice relaxing weekend the bed was alright but the breakfast & the meals at The Middlewood brewers fayre was abysmal, the organisation
& food was terrible. On friday morningwe were told they didnt have any mushrooms,i put two pieces of bread in the toaster & put it in 8 times it still came out white. We had to ask for plates bowls & butter
which they had run out of at the self service section,
tables were not cleared and customers were complaining.Saturday arrived & we thought after the complaints things can only get better, but everything was the same as above and it got worse. We went to the waiter,i said i hope you have mushrooms,he smiled and said yes,but we have no eggs.I suggested they sent somebody to Tesco, this i believe they did,but as they couldnt provide it immediatley we cancelled breakfast & went to the Little Chef at Poynton(excellent)Sunday arrived once again toaster not working, service abysmal,no plates, no cups, etc etc etc,but we did eventually get a breakfast after 40 mins, but it arrived cold,i sent it back and went once again to the Little Chef Poynton(Excellent)once again other customers were complaining.I must add that on saturday we went for a meal we both had scampi which had about 7 chips & afew pieces of scampi,no lemon or garnish, had to go and ask for lemon & tartre sauce, tables not cleared and they decided at the last minute to close the restaurant at 8-oo last orders 7-30.We sat with a couplr who got throgh three bottles of wine waiting for the meal ,and when it arrived had to send it back.We decided to book out a day earlier we couldnt stand being there another day.We have complained to Premier Lodge & Brewers Fayre.Premier Lodge refunded the money for our breakfasts, nothing else but an half hearted apology.Brewers Fayre the only letter i have received tells me the manager will be in touch in a couple of days unfortunatly they didnt say which year.Whitbread plc own these places and have won awards regarding customer service, after the way they have handled my complaint i dont see how.

Pub's good, the food is a bit hit and miss- depends on your luck.
Play area for kids, bit of a beer garden, standard Brewers pub.

Went in for lunch the other day and all four of us took up the offer of starter and mains for 6.50 to be told that they had too be brought out together. when it did all arive together, the food was TERRIBLE, microwaved to the maximum and the portions wouldnt have filled up a 5year old child. Think they need to address this problem as i know quite a few people that think the place is attrocious. Nice pub shame about the organisation, Brewers Fayre sort it out!!!!!
