user reviews of Just So Caf Bar, Uckfield

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

When i come home on leave Just So is my local and ive always found it to be very accomodating and are very supportive of the british forces and hold many events raising money for help for heros and also daniel gamble a local lad who was killed in afghanistan last year when we were on op tour.It is the only pub in uckfield that has done so, it may be a little rough round the edges but at least they show appreciation to a worthy cause .

I used to be a regular visitor to Just So in the evening's as the music was good and the drinks not over priced, however it became very run down and dirty and so I stopped going in there about a year ago. I have just been back in there as it is under new management so thought we'd see if it had changed and to start with it seemed ok. However after using the toilets, I soon realised that they had done little more than apply a layer of paint to the walls. The toilets were filthy, with empty bottles and dirty tissue on the floor, no tissue paper in the cubicles and no hand wash to use. Then to top our eveing off, we were asked to leave (by a very aggresive barman) becasue approx 3 crisps had fallen onto the fall and had been trodden on and when we refused to sweep this up (we were handed a broom and dustpan and brush), we were thrown out and called animals. I have never been so insulted in all my life and can honsetly say that my 6 year is more mature the the bafoons they have working in there. Even the door staff thought it was ridiculous!

We found this to be a horrendous place; dirty - no filthy toilets, sticky floors and unfriendly service - and that was on a Saturday afternoon!

It is a shame, if this venture was done well, it would be well used - the Fat Cats chain have shown that (although not to everyone's taste) you can combine good quality food and service for day time customers with a primarily young customer base in the evenings. It is a shame that the JSCB seems to be interested only in cramming lager swilling youngsters in in the evening.

Was ok when the place opened. Full of kids and really loud music now, not a place to go for a chat with friends, but OK for a piss up night out.
