It's under new management now and looking a whole lot cleaner. The dirty carpets are gone and it looks like someone is caring about it again, also back doing food which is good. I had a great night in there on Wednesday when they do a pool competition night and am going back Saturday for the Karaoke...

Infact a 1930's building- and yes it is a dump. You get nothing but chavs in here and sat out on the benches. It is horrible and i dont advise anyone to go in

I don't get how people can have anything nice to say about this pub...I can't imagine the dives they usually frequent? This place is dire...however it's also one of the best pubs in Edgware so that says alot about Edgware as a drinking venue. The Railway is absolutely desperate for complete renovation...everything from the carpets upwards. The toilets are are breeding ground for the 1st plague seen since 1665. A sad decline from what was a nice pub in the not too distant past. The staff are alright but the pub is worse when the sun emerges in the summer when all the local cretins show up bare chested with their pitbulls. A big shame because it is a genuine Tudor building (listed I'm sure) with real history whose owners should be taken to task by the council for allowing it to fall in to such a state of disrepair.

Took my canadian cousins there. The food was great and good value.

They were impressed with the building but the atmosphere great

the most dreadful pub i have ever been in. filthy tables, shirtless, tatooed thugs fighting outside. it was so awful, i complained to the local council!

almost definitely the worst pub I've ever EVER been in! I've just moved to Edgware, and it has an unbelievably disappointing range of drinky places; from now on, it's down the Northern Line to Hampstead and the lovely Flask for me, which is a shame cos it's nice to support your local. However, when your local is full of scary knuckle-scrapers, the shame is rapidly replaced by a feeling of relief.

unfortunatly the cheap beer prices are no longer in existance.
It was great to go to a pub and buy 3 Kronenbourgs and get change from a fiver!!
but alas, the pints are back up to 2.30 :(
hopefully they will reduce the prices again and also fix those knackered chairs!!!

This pub is THE cheapest pub in the area! 1.39 for John Smiths when I went, which is even less than wetherspoons! The food is ridiculously cheap, 50 pence for a good plate of decent chips, and about 3 quid for fish and chips. The people going seem quite mixed, and there are 2 pool tables. If you want bargain basement this is it!

it's a small pub on a big road. v unique. one of the only PROPER pubs left around here.friendly staff. good drink (!) events e.g. live bands, quiz nite etc... regularly. most of all, one of the best atmospheres i've ever been in.
