Pretty unattractive large open plan pub with godawful drinks promotion signs dangling everywhere. Old Speckled Hen was Ok, food was Ok, staff was Ok...I prefer better than `Ok` to be honest though...the young `uns probably love it!

A few months ago I would have had to agree with the majority of posts about staff service, it was awful. It appears to have changed now, as far as I can tell they've replaced the old staff apart from one women. The service is good now, nothing to complain about.
I eat there regularly, great gammon and eggs btw, only bad thing I've had is a mixed grill which consisted of some of the worst cuts of meat I've paid for - 80% fat, unchewable.
Reasonable prices, very good variety and price of pitchers compared to other similar places. Pretty good variety of drinks, although it is a bar, so don't expect a wide variety of ales etc.

Large studenty drinking barn with TVs, quiz machines and fruit machines all over the place. Large array of lager pumps selling nothing of any interest whatsoever except possibly the Frulli Strawberry beer if you like that sort of thing, I don't. Can't think of any reason for me to ever visit this place again. It's pretty poor really.

I was in here on Monday evening, no there are no cask conditioned ales, but the Strawberry beer is a different pint and although possibly an aquired taste - I think I could have drunk a heck of a lot of this nectar!
I did not find issue with the staff, they were polite, happy and friendly.
Okay, so the food is snacky and basic, not gormet but they do some topped chips as 'sharers' that I highly recommend to keep you going on a pub crawl - we had cheese and chorizo topped curley fries, bliss!

No cask ales. Typical big chain pub serving basic food and crap larger. I had a shandy, but to be fair the bitter spoilt the lemonade!

Have to agree with other posters about the quality of staff. Apart from one or two, they're more interested in chatting to their mates and posing than serving customers. This has been going on for years and it's sad to see that nothing much has changed.
Mind you, even if the staff were more attentive, this place isn't really worth a visit. It's just another soulless, crappy little student bar.

That is utter BULLSHIT. Up until today I thought it was a fairly decent place. No complaints about it. But now I dont think I will ever step a foot inside the place again.
so yesterday my friend and I went there to eat.. Didn't even buy any alcohol, and one of the staff members ID'd my friend. She has a Finnish driving licence so he told her she wouldnt be served because it has to be a UK issued ID. Today we went again and she had her passport with her and again got the same comment that it's not acceptable because it isn't a UK passport. Can someone please explain this to me? Nowhere does it say that it has to be a UK id.

for your information i am a member of staff at royal london and it is a great bar! the problem is it has such a good reputation that there is too many customers coming in for such a small venue!
it is being refurbed this week so keep your eyes out!
no the beer isnt fantastic but what do you expect when its one of the cheapest in wolves?!! you can not expect to have the best pint on earth!

Not much i can say really due to most of it already having been said. But it must be pointed out that even after all this time its still the same. Apart from one of the lads there the rest of the staff are just frankly useless and rude. Who employs these people?? with referance to an earlier comment the staff seem to still do thier own thing at the end of the bar argueing whos going to serve! Some of the Draught is ok but dont bother buying bottles as the fridges dont work. The toilets are still filthy, the worst ive ever seen! And ive been to Thailand! You have to wade through a lake off piss and the cubicles are minging. If its the cheap drink you want go to the varsity, at least you wont boil to death and it smells nicer. And you get served quicker. Plus points, A well positioned big screen, Friendly professional doorstaff and unfortunatly thats it. CS

Very average Not got a lot going for it to be honest ! the place needs a good refurb and apart from one memeber of staff the rest are all rude ! The food is always boring and bland and the toilets well do people use them or just piss of the floor ?! pool tables are ok but usally rammed with about 15 pound coins on the side of each one,,,,Do yourself a favour go the the hogshead which is clean and nice with waiter service

Rude staff. More interested in organising their social lives or drinking than actually doing any work. I thought the SU was bad but I was wrong. I can honestly say that I've never been in a Scream bar this bad. The door team on the whole are pretty poor and again don't seem to actually want to be there. I feel sorry for those poor saps who seem to be in there everyday hour after hour because they think it's the mecca of beer. It's hot in there, in facts it so damned hot you could probably do some hot crotch cooking. And the toilets......... oh my how many steps to go up and when you get there you're faced with the most disgusting site since the old Wembley concrete trough. I'll be honest I didn't sample the food but if everything else is to go buy I'm glad I didn't.
And as for the beer..... I don't care how cheap it is or in fact isn't in there I won't be drinking in there again The beer is nasty, I sampled about 3 pints and I wished I hadn't I think I drank about mouthful of each one. Rank and nasty. Clean your lines people!!!!!
On a plus point the Video Jukebox is pretty cool and seems to be regularly updated.

Students galore with the usual drink offers but flash the pass,big screen and snooker/pool etc. standard pub grub again student specials,blimey wish i was a student.
Busy weekends not surprisingly.
