I object to paying London beer prices in London
I object to paying London prices in Littlehampton even more

I presume the customers are paying for the view.

Maybe this pub thinks its a restaurant, but if you want a good cheap beer
go to the W/spoons.

Booked a table for a Friday evening, we were warned it was music night. A table away from the music was good but so was the music. Not too intrusive and very professional. Both the beer and the meal were excellent (steak). Very curtious staff and service made a lovley evening.

Went here on Monday and was pleasantly surprised that the main courses of food the three of us had (roast lamb, scampi, vegetarian curry) were all under 10. The service was excellent, good range of beers, and super views of the river. Mind you, it was a bright sunny day and the tide was in, so they had everything going for them.

Very pricey pub, popular with an older age group who are happy to pay 15+ for pub food. Nice atmosphere, but clearly cashing in on its riverside location.

Visited this pub just before christmas, food average & small portions for the price, and at 13.50 for a bottle of house plonk it's over priced.
It does'nt deserve the reputation that it has, won't be returning.

Had a meal with the friends I am staying with here, it was the only place they would take me for food! Little bit pricey on both beer and food but the quality did justify that. Also has b&b so maybe on my next visit? Lovely view outside.

I find the food average and the beer OK, while the prices are a bit above the comfortable. Nice location overlooking the River Arun (duh! hence the name). All in all, not a bad place if a little cold atmosphere-wise.

Not the best food in the world, but it is fairly cheap, the beer is drinkable, and it is usually a chav-free zone, which is unusual for L'A!

Good little pub between the river and the railway. Shows the football, apparently, but you can sit outside and look over the river instead.
No idea about the food. It's a pub.

Makes a nice change to find a restaurant that 'specialises in fish' to offer more than scampi and fish n'chips!
Good choice on menu. Great river views, friendly staff.
They were packed and it was a good job we had booked a table but the food was not ages arriving and was well presented and cooked to perfection.

Well worth a visit for either a quick drink or a meal in the excellent and very spacious dining area, adorned with nautical memorabilia. The pub offers good views of the river Arun. Always a nice atmosphere. The rooms upstairs although are not en-suite are clean and roomy.

Great view of the harbour!

First time visit lately for meal and to see a band. Food is well above average for a pub, a good and varied menu, not too expensive either-recommend the Linguini with lamb patties, delicious! Perhaps disappointingly, after the ambition and choice of the starters and main courses, the dessert selection is a little limited and rather too typical of just about every other pub in the country. The pub and bar itself is what I would call a good, honest boozer. Friendly, a good atmosphere, and full of people out for a happy few hours of a Friday night. Another encouraging aspect is that the "youth" of the area literally have their own little bar with pool table and all those unneccessary accessories they need to complement their night out which means they can do their own thing undisturbed by, and undisturbing the "grown ups". Nice one Landlord.

The best pub in Littlehampton

Delightful to down a pint and watch the sun go down in the summer while sitting outside by the river. Not so much fun in the Winter, but that's not the fault of the pub!

Both the staff and locals are friendly and genuine.

I went to the Arun View last night (27/8/06) for a meal with my family on a recommendation from a friend.

The atmosphere was very friendly, with a nice, clean-looking restaurant greeting you on arrival.

We had a nice river-view seat by the window and the staff were very friendly throughout.

The meal took a bit longer to arrive than I would have liked (about 40 mins), but when it did arrive, it was enjoyed by all and couldn't be faulted.

A waitress often walked past and asked if everything was ok which was appreciated.

We live about 45 minutes away, but may well come back in the near future and would definitely recommend this pub/restaurant if you want a relaxing meal in a lovely setting.

One of the best, if not the best, pubs in Littlehampton. Excellent ale, I like Old Thumper! Good mix of customers, friendly atmosphere. Above average food as well.
