The service was friendly but the food was pretty poor. At 12.20 for 2 course Sunday lunch it isn't a cheapy meal, and the veg were boiled to death and unseasoned, really not very nice, roast potatoes tasted like they had been reheated and Yorkies were soggie and deflated. The puds were nice and the staff pleasant but not very attentive and the bill was wrong twice

The epitome of a country pub. Large pub and eatery, huge car-park, beer garden and grounds for caravans. Great interior, with sporty memorabilia on the walls. Friendly service.

Did not eat, but the food is excellent, so i have been told.

Usual taps, but having Banks's MILD smooth and 4 real ale taps, that included Abbots and Black Sheep - i had the guest Warwicks Brewery's Falstaff - which was decent enough

Our most favourite pub and restaurant in the Lichfield area. Superb food - spoilt for choice; excellent variety of beers and wines; cosy and warm; very friendly and most helpful staff.

This was recommended to me by a friend who eats there regularly, so i thought i'd better go see what he was raving about!! Greeted by a lovely roaring fire and one of the fabulous guest beers. We took a table and looked at the menu...as well as the extensive specials boards, and were wholly spoiled for choice!
The Fish menu is second to none with exotic choices such as swordfish, right down to cod and chips... it's only a shame that there wasn't room in me for two or three of the meals on offer!
I went with the Smoked Haddock in Thermadore sauce, and the good lady went with the Salmon.
Excellent portions, superb taste (that i can still imagine now), and excellent service.
Whoever mentioned the home made chips in an earlier post was so right... just visit this place for yourself and see what we mean! You won't regret it!!
If you can't make it during the week, then i'd highly recommend booking for the weekend as it's a popular little eatery!
Enjoy! I'm hooked!
