Sorry to say but we are leaving on 19/4/10 - so come on down and have a beer (or three) and a bite to eat, and listen to some great bands

Cheers - David, Julian, Philip and all the staff xxx

Has become my local again after spending many years avoiding the place.
Very friendly . Excellent live music at the weekends, great food & most importantly Harvest Pale as a regular. Heavenly lol
Have got to know the chaps who run it well & know that they do a lot for charity & the local community. Pleased to have a great local within staggering distance.

in response to gav the cat ... I remember the day he came in and to the average eye he appeared to be intoxicated ... when questioned by our barstaff he became agitated and abusive and it was for this reason alone that he was refused service... we have a diverse clientele and a fair proportion of this are differently abled in various ways ... we do our best to cater for all customers irrespective of their ability or otherwise ... gav the cat was offered the opportunity of returning to discuss the incident but declined ... publican sam is the licensee of the Robin Hood

we will be stocking Castle Rock Brewery's Harvest Pale from the week commencing October 27th

and we're starting our Try 3 for the price of 1 real ale promotion - 3 x one-third of a pint tasters for the same price as a pint - the perfect way to try our ales

so look forward to seeing you soon!

What a turnaround! Since the new owners took over last July this has turned into a decent local. I only started going back this year when I heard via this site that someone new had taken over, and wow can you tell.

Finding a pub with a dart board is hard enough at the best of times, but the Robin Hood has a pretty godone in its own area in a side room. They also have a dedicated pool room and the regular players are very willing to let you play, unlike the cliques you often get.

Fairly good selection of real ales and all the ones I've had have been absolutely fine. Same goes for the other beers/ciders on tap. Not tried the food yet but certainly looks promising.

Much nicer atmosphere than before too, with a variety of distinct areas to choose from, and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Put simply, you're not going to go out of your way to come here, but if you're in the area I would definitely recommend stopping in; it's definitely the best pub in the centre of Sherwood.

with 27 years experience in the trade I hope that my taking pub from Barras/Spirit Group/Punch Taverns will vastly improve the wet and dry offerings and given time and a lot of hard work and TLC my partners and I will be able to give Sherwood a pub it deserves and that will attract more favourable reviews in the future

we go in on July 4th - and hope that you'll give us a try and either let us know when you visit or via these reviews what you think

ask for Philip at the bar - I'll be more than happy to say hello :)

The Robin has gone from bad to worse, no drinkable beers at all - best avoided. Shame really as it was OK in the past till it became Barras!

Somewhat uninspiring pub in somewhat uninspring suburb of Nottingham. I have only suggested this place as I was astounded that of all the other Robin Hood pubs on B.I.T.E. none are in Notts!!
