please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Used to live about a minute's walk from this place when it was The Drill, and it's gone from being a rough old boozer to a really nice place. Food is excellent, beer / wine choices great and staff very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend - in fact whenever I visit my parents, we often visit the H G Wells as well!

Now the HG Wells, Great pub, had 2 events there in the last few months, and the staff are excellent and keen to ensure your evening goes well. Will definitely be back and have friends now booking events there too.

Now re-opened as The H G Wells since end April. Great staff, great food and drink and well worth a visit!

Another (fairly) new manager now. The pool table is back, and there is also a dartboard. The real ales were fine (Courage Directors, London Pride) and there is a special offer of the fourth pint free on Pride and Fosters. The best thing though was the food; the fish and chips I had yesterday were very high quality, at a very reasonable price!

This pub seems finally has a decent landlord in it.
Gone is the pool table, Food seems decent, beer is tasty, doesnt seem to be the same old troublesome bunch there drinking anymore. More of a familt type pub that Worcester park needs finally.

There is even live music several times a week.

Staff are now friendlier, the place seems brighter and cleaner.

I'd say give it a try....

My local... this used to be a bit rough but recently new management have cleaned it up and turned it around. We frequent as much as we can and enjoy the entertainment; usually a band or live music on Friday & Saturdays. Good food, improved decor & toilets, friendly staff and a lovely big garden where kids are welcome till early evening. What more could you want?

I was in london for the cup final and was at The Drill for the weekend and i had fantastic time. The regulars and people passing by were very nice and the staff are very friendly. The new manager Richie is a good laugh too. So if you are in Surrey and near the Drill pub do not hesitate to pop in and have a great day with some great locals. Ronnie

Against my better judgemant I visited last summer after the review that said it was improved as under new management. It was seriously awful - run by some builder who wanted a club for his builder mates! A 12yr old kid (son of said builder) was hustling on the pool table!!

Returned recently as I had seen there were renovations going on. THINGS ARE LOOKING UP! Although all works are not complete - it is under new management again and they are hoping to make it a family pub with a new menu etc. Hopefully this will now become the local that Worcester Park needs.

I visited this pub in November 2006, it used to be one of my regular haunts prior to moving to the coast.
What used to be the dining area is now un carpeted and has two pool tables. Although Im not adverse to the odd game of pool the place looked like a knackers yard. Most disappointing.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

This pub has recently been taken over by a new landlord team. And after a few teething troubles getting over the last landlord it is rapidly getting better.

Great beer garden, big screen tv's for sports, pub quiz on a Thursday night, good beer selection although a little lager orientated, excellent wine list and good quality furniture.

There is a dart board and team, 2 pool tables with teams, couple of fruitmachines, juke box, and a quiz/game machine

All in all a good pub on the up and up

Wow this place has nosedived big time. What a hole. Dark dingy and full of the local wide boys. Avoid like the plague. Used to be a fantastic boozer in the late nineties. Shame.

Couldn't beleive our luck when driving past we spot a bounce castle for the kids in the back garden. kids see it too and scream to go in. beer was reasonable too.
One bit of constructive criticism, please clear up the garden! broken glass in the grass isn't good when kids are running around bare foot playing on bouncey castle.

went their for my 18th birthday meal. we got our food quickly but we were left waitingfor one member of the groups food, everyone else had finished and ordered deserts before food was brought out! the worst service i have ever encountered! apart from that i have never had any problems there

Good pub, good selection of beer. Plays music but not too loud. Food has recently changed - for the better. Major plus is the large beer garden during the summer. Only down side is that both food and drink are very expensive.

One of the most decent pubs in the North Cheam / Worcester Park area - which is not saying very much!! Quite a lively pub, good array of alcohol (tho' there is NO real ale at the moment), food is the typical ribs, steaks and burgers thing - quite good if a little on the expensive side! Real mixture of people, young and old, unfortunately, more male than female. Has more atmosphere than the Wetherspoons (on the London Road), much, much safer than the Queen Vic on Church Hill Road, less snobby than the pubs in Cheam Village and cheaper than the pubs in Worcester Park. Worth a try - tho' it may not be everyones cup of tea.
