The bit at the back has now been turned back into a Pub from a fish restaurant its now called Torrington House Bar. Front part still a waste of space coffee shop.

Shocking - this was one of the few real pubs in Finchley, with a back room which was almost an institution, the kind of place where you'd go to see your mates' bands play and where they used to have record sales. Now turned into yet another Starbucks. Who the hell gave planning permission for that?

I enjoyed an afternoon drinking session in The Torrington one Saturday , four years ago . I am sad to hear that it's now closed .

Yup as per earlier anonymous comment, recently opened up as 3 Oceans - yet another bar restaurant for North Finchley. Pretty quiet at the moment but hopefully business will pick up in time. They run 2 menus, one serving continental cuisine morning and afternood, the other Indian which runs into the evening as well.

At least you can get a pint there, but don't make the mistake that we did and drink large rum with blue WKD in - great hangover but cost a fortune!

The music is now at the "Durham Suite", Barnet FC.
I really used to like this pub back in the early 80's!

Gone. A disgrace. The music bar is legendary in north London and has hosted many fringe bands which have toured all over the UK, bands like the Hamsters, Ruthless Blues, Man and even Americans like Carvin Jones.

closed down last week. think they are revamping it. apparantly the room at the back for live music isnt goin to make a return which is a bit of a shame.

expensive for north finchley. limited atmosphere.

last went on a sat night. its nice enough and there are alot worse pubs in north finchley.

the bouncers are good and the people seem nice enough (if a bit trendy), good choice of beers.

i think they often have live bands in the room at the back on a saturday and u tend to get a different crowd in there than you do in the front.
