please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

O'Sheas has had a refurb recently and it now looks very modern looking and clean feeling, it used to be quite scruffy before the refurb. When I went in there were two ales on the bar- JW Lees MPA and Doom Bar. On this trip I was on the Guinness, which was as good as you will get a Guinness. They also have a lot of Irish Whiskies on offer and other spirits as well. Pretty solid place but the only problem is it is expensive, Guinness was 4 pound is hand the cheapest double whiskey is 5 pound (Jamesons), standard with an Irish bar. Unlike with some Irish bars the two guys behind the bar who served us were Irish, they even offer to bring your drinks over (well they did with us). At least with the refurb you actually feel like it's worth paying a bit more. The only other Irish bar I have been to in Manc is Waxy O'Connors and O'Sheas is far better, also must say that it's better than the O'Neills chain.

Nice pub, plenty of space, good band. Not much ale, but it is an Irish pub! Very good fun place to dance the night down at the end with a friendly crowd.

Have to agree with mivecit68, always a great atmosphere. We never fail to call into this pub for one or two before moving on to OT. Can get pretty crowded though so leave a bit of time to get served.

i went in on St Paddy's Day and i found everything just fine , the staff were pleasant and quick to serve me and the company was fine. the beer was good but the only that let it down was the price, but hey its same everywhere

This pubs in a good location and gets a good crowd for watchin the footie. The bar staff are pretty friendly and the music is good too.The one drawback is the overpriced beer which means its not somewhere to spend all evening in,as its murder on your wallet!
No need!

A bit crap really. Handy for watching sport in town, but overpriced and the atmosphere suffers from hamming up the Oirishness of the place. These places work when they're just run as a good pub first and foremost, with Irish sport and music tagged-on. Sticking assorted tat on the walls isn't necessary.

A favoutite of mine, can get busy but only adds to the atmosphere. always quick and easy to get served by the polite and friendly bar staff. good bands playing classics and James the legendary dancer!

i love this pub it has a great atmosphere and superb live bands, my favourites are Green Hot Clover.
I wish there were more seats though and less smoke, everyone seems to be there for the same thing to enjoy themselves.

Great Irish bar, live music is usually good. Gets very busy, although keep your eye open and you'll find a seat

Great pub, the live Irish music is always a plus. But do avoid St. Pats day and the Medics pub crawls.

Don't believe that this inan Irish pyb although it does serve the only drinkable pint of Guinness in Manchester. A few red-knecks can be see in thier from time to time but in general it's not too bad. Worth a pint in the afternoon and then travel to your local to finish up methinks

Excellent Irish athmosphere, friendly staff and good guinness. What more do you want.

Nice and cozy atmosphere in the evening but busy after the band started. Good beer, meal was cheap and nearly edible. Cute barmaid, but no irish staff. Will definitely go back when in manchester.

Good Guinness; and its not a student pub! Always a plus.

Time your visits carefully. Can never fault the beer and had a top afternoon in there prior to a Pogues concert a year or so ago..
It can get packed, avoid it when Celtic are playing on TV or for St Patrick's Day but OK early in the evening or for a few in the afternoon.
Better than the plastic Irish "teme" pubs and there are plenty of options to move on to.

Authentic Irish bar, serving up Guiness and live music. Popular with locals, was head-butted there a few years ago for being a student. Always recommended for a colourful night out.
