Two Brentwood ales on, both in good nick. Standard pub food of good quility, pleasent staff. Large screen sport so if thats not your thing pick your times carefully. Worth paying the extra pennies to avoid the Eva Heart accross the road

Hey l2s, (another one comment poster,
have you ever thought about going into the pub first?, being polite? and asking if you can park?, and saying that you'll be back in a minute?, having manners does help

As a regular customer of this pub, myself and a number of friends and collegues found it difficult to park in the lunch time period. We placed a complaint with the management, who decided to take action and within a week we could come in for lunch and were able to park, simply by obtaining a permit when we ordered a drink. It is well sign posted that there are clampers in operation and even a note from the management to tell you how to get a permit. If the non patrons did not use the private car park as a free parking facility to go shopping on the high street then the clampers would not have to patrol here, but I'm glad they do as I can meet with my friends now almost every lunch time and park close by for free (well the price of lunch).

The lunch by the way, is fantastic, the most expensive thing on the menu is 4 and is alway wonderfully presented and tastes lovely. Compliments to the chef. The staff are friendly and their product knowledge is brilliant. The manager and assistant are also friendly and love to chat to their customers and make sure they're ok, whilst remaining professional.

overall I give this pub a 9, you can't find a better pub in the area

& they have sky so they show all the games!!

An very nasty scam operates in this pub car-park.

After a lovely day out my husband, myself and daughter decided to have lunch here since it was opposite a cake shop where we wanted to order a celebration cake. We thought we could kill two birds with one stone but as soon as we crossed the road from the car park clampers rushed over to our car and clamped it. I happened to turn around just as we crossed. We rushed back over to tell them we were customers and they said we had to get a permit first. We explained that we had hardly had a chance to collect a permit we had only been 10 seconds maximum!!!

LEGAL THEFT!!! BE WARNED.

The customers in the pub thought it was hysterical - lovely place to go - very classy clientele.

The young girl serving seemed genuinely sympathetic and embarrassed about our treatment but the land lady told us we had no intention of coming into the pub and was utterly obnoxious .

We chose the place because it looked ideal - opposite the shop we wanted to go to with parking and a nice garden for our daughter. We ended up with a ruined day and a nasty taste in our mouth...if you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

LBS clampers - google them - they're well known for their scamming.

I remember it as a lovely pub in the early 70s when I worked part time there for a while. Wonderful customers and Jack the gov and his wife were absolute treasures to work for. Stayed in digs (that's full board for you youngsters) with a great land lady a few doors up from the pub. Smiled and winked at many a beautiful girl across the counter and I am happy to say some winked back...where are you all now. Oh yes and if memory serves me right Jack was a West Ham fan.

I have visited the Coopers regularly for the last 6 years, I am there every friday and it certainly is NOT a "no go area" The entertainment is good and varied, as is the customer base. The prices are really reasonable and the staff are really friendly.

kele21, please ... never seen any trouble??? How about every week??? I'm sure you're gorgeous but are you sure you did a review of the right pub??? Between 7-11pm Friday and Saturday night, the corner of Station Rd and High Rd Chadwell Heath is virtually a no go area ...

I used to go in the Coopers 7 or 8 years back, when it was a 'real' pub, and the Eva Hart didn't exist yet, and it was really good on occasion, with the odd bit of trouble but nothing OTT. The problem is that once the Eva Hart opened, it seemed to take all of the mature people from the Coopers, and left the rest. These days - even after the refurb, which looks great from the outside - it's still mainly full of roughnecks from Dagenham, and if you want a quiet, or fun, night out I would suggest you walk down to the White Horse ...

This place is my local, but I'm not being biased..

The Coopers had just been refurbed an its gleaming, really nice atmosphere as the lady running the pub went through the effort of making sure all the trouble makers became barred before the refurb took place.

There are big plasmas everywhere for the footy, plenty of tables an chairs to sit down, a games room upstairs with 3 brand new pool tables, theres another bar up there as well.

Great in there on fridays and saturdays nights, has a dj and lively feel.. In short the Coopers Arms is like Romford only without the grief, attitude and you feel more relaxed an comfortable being there.

My only complaint is that sometimes there aren't enough girls.. But I'm a bloke so what do you expect lol..

pub with function room

Expensive (to cover the refurb, no doubt), unwelcoming and does get rough. If you want to unwind then go over the road to the Wetherspoons-run Eva Hart; but watch the traffic as they zoom from the right on a one-way system. Toilets are always vandalised and unclean too.

Nice newly refurbished pub in Chadwell Heath, however they are the most expensive pub in Chadwell Heath, their Video Jukebox gives 5 songs for 2.00 instead of the normal 7
and they even manage to have the odd spot of trouble !.
