please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A deceptively small frontage hides a three roomed interior and large paved courtyard. 3 or 4 ales on, had Butty Bach which was quite acceptable. Came back late and had some good quality food at a reasonable price given its location close to the Cathedral. A family business.

Popped in early on Friday. Excellent (bottled) mead infused Cathedral cider and fast and friendly service. Good value pub grub. Nicely lit. popular covered garden area. Well worth a visit

Popped in after reading a review on this site regarding the food served here. It was fantastic, well presented and a good price. Good selection of ales, ciders and lagers. Service was friendly and efficent, nothing was to much trouble. Recommend to all 10/10

Virtually deserted on a summer Sunday evening. Had a very poor pint of Hereford Brewery Black Bull.

This is THE place in Hereford for good pub grub, food second to none, beer ok, locals pleasant enough.

You wouldn't want to spend the whole night in here but well worth popping in for a couple of pints on your way round the town!

Good outdoor space to the rear and covered smokers area too. Seems to be having more and more live music events and the odd open mic night. Like the food especially the sausage and mash.

There appears to be no order as to who gets served I have on occasions been overlooked to the extent I've had to call over a staff member.

The only thing that lets the place down is the irregular opening hours on Fri/Sat night. It seems the bouncers are the ones calling the shots.

On one night its been dead but they've stayed open to 12.30am, but when its heaving another week they turf everyone out at 10.30pm. It's stupid, you could have only just been served a pint and as they've called last orders and the bouncers there asking you to leave.

Have sorta vague memories of this place from saturday due to extreme alcoholic intake by this time. The patio area has always been nice at the spread, which is encouraging. Had a couple of beers then moved on. No problems here.

I used to come in this pub on a saturday on my lunch hour and always managed to have a nice quiet pint. Its ok during the evenings too, with a restaurant and large patio area. However, people down the bottom end must be ill most of the time because of the apparent sniffing that can be heard (wink). I do like this pub tho and it is always been one of the better ones in hereford.

Went in there on Sat. evening while on a visit to my friends in Hereford. I've never felt so unwelcome in a pub before in my life....if you're not in your 20's don't bother. I was totally ignored by the barstaff..who just looked at me and went to the next person....only got served when the DJ, a friend of my mate, intervened.

I it wasn't for the ignorant barstaff it would be a good pub.

This gets a 3 because the food was good. If they had decent barstaff in there they'd get a 10.

Not a bad pub, worth a visit if on an all day session. Lack of pool table and tv kinda spoils things, but good atmos, decent crowd and top notch food served in upstairs restraunt makes up for it.
A nice pub to take the missus on a date, safe bet.

Has gone shit now.....used to be good as a pre club to the Crystal Rooms but when that closed this place died.......

Perhaps the best pub in Hereford - a cracking atmosphere and fairly cheap drinks. A good selection of drinks and food, and a great outdoor area in the summer.

Situated next door to the Cathedarl, this decent refurb of a very old building is one of Hereford's few decent city centre pubs. Attracting a youngish but friendly crowd in the evenings, the comfortable nature of the pub mixed with decnt beer and imaginative food make it worth a visit.

Fab pub run by wonderful Martha & Edyth.

Quite a stylish crowd but a few try hards.

Great pub, nice in the summer with the beer garden and BBQ's.
Quite a stylish crowd but a few try hards.
Music is a bit pretentious.
Food and bar staff are excellent!
