Popped in at about 1 o `clock, not overly busy, but filled up later. Has a nice spacious, modern outdoor area at the back, but as it had been showery, I opted for a nice little alcove, done out with comfortable chairs, cushions and tables, the walls alternatively, biscuit and mint painted, and books on the shelves. They were doing a Deli sarnie/ side and drink deal for £3.95, but I bought a packet of Pipers` Sweet Chilli crisps ( from nearby Biggleswade) and enjoyed a good pint of Abbott , it being a GK boozer.( I think the deal specified IPA rather than Abbott.) Toilets were clean and modern. Young lady behind the bar was friendly and welcoming, and bade me farewell on my exit. Could n`t fault it.

A truly awful place. Ended up here on a Saturday night out with friends. Meat market doesn't even come close to describing it.....

Right next door to Elements club and a cab station. Great food during the day, big portions and value for money. The yorkshires on a sunday are amazing! Friendly staff and welcoming landlord. There's karaoke on tuesdays and it's packed on a friday and saturday night with Pop and RnB classics until 2am! The massive garden's heated with a pool table and a koi pond, not forgetting the adorable resident jack russell, Olly to give you a smile and a wag on exit. Definitely worth a stop before heading off to club.

I think it's a Greene King pub, but one of those unbranded ones you get sometimes. It has been refurbished - and thus has probably lost most of its original character - but thankfully nothing too fancy. Had a standard 'pub food' meal and a decent pint of IPA. OK sort of place, but the lack of customers somewhere so close to Bedford's High Street seems worrying.

What a great pub the George & Dragon is, I was there yesterday lunchtime and I had a wonderful lunchtime drink and half a BBQ chicken, all served by the 3 very friendly ladies behind the bar while I and my partner sat in the enclosed courtyard at the back. Its not everyday that you wander into a strange pub purely by chance and get a great experience like that.
PS. Don't woory about the 'dead' fish at the bottom of the pond, its only sleeping!
