This is now a pretty safe place to drink. Just mind your step if it ever opens again.

This pub was a nightmare until a few months ago when Greene King finally saw sense and removed the old landlord and landlady and replaced them with temporary staff. Instantly the pub went back to what it used to be, the party atmosphere was back and all the locals returned. Two weeks ago the permanent managers moved in and they were fantastic, the best managers I have ever known to run a pub. Then 2 days ago the worst news reached us locals, our pub which was finally getting good again has been sold. It is now closed and may never open again. We are all extreemly upset that we may never again set foot in the Maverick again.

This is probably one of the worst pubs in Surrey and definetly the worst pub in Chessington!

What little the pub did have going for it has gone thanks to the terrible family that now runs it. Stay well clear unless you enjoy fighting, arguing and being insulted by the staff.

This is well and truely the worst pub i know, the people who own the pub are very rude and make you feel extremely unwelcome. The landlord, his wife and their daughter love to intimidate you whilst you are in their pub, the maverick is a complete dump and should be taken over by new people.

Awful pub - bad staff - one was very rude to me and publicly embarrased me while colleagues just watched. Dull atmosphere - would never go there again.

This has a great atmosphere on friday nights with a brilliant DJ, food is nice especially the all day brekkie!
drinks are reasonably priced and locals tend to be friendly!

Dreadful.
No ale (last night), music's rotten & loud (even outside!), decor's sick-making etc etc.
It's all that a pub shouldn't be.

Very nice decor but has gone downhill quite a lot with the new landlord, so would only visit for lunch now

good for sports lovers and youngsters , plasma screens above every cubical in the toilets so you dont miss a goal full range of lagers and bottled beers 4 pool tables and a big screen

Very very pricey unfortunately. But a nice enough pub, and three pool talbes (although you'll be hard pushed to find chalk for your queue.) A quick walk to the North Star or Cap in Hand would be wise in my opinion...

This is another great place to get a drink and have a laugh with your pals. It is a bit expensive, but the landlord is great and the atmosphere is tops!

Quite expensive. Inside looks like Ikea. Has flat screen TV's in mens toilets (so I hear) but not in ladies! Used to be called The Pickled Newt and before that The Port of Call.
