Just got back from a meal with my fiancee at the nags head (Brentwood). After a adequate meal there amounting to 80 me and and my fiancee handed it in cash to the waiter. We then went to the main bar for a final drink. The waiter then said we only gave 60. I'm not stupid. We gave him the full amount. I was then made to pay the extra 20. Honestly people. Don't go there.

After reading the negative comments i decided to give The Nags head a go anyway and i'm glad i didnt listen to the other reviews.

This pub has moved with the times. Get used to it this is how pubs will be in the future!
Why do all the other pubs close and one's like The Nags head keep getting busier.

The food was made to order so took a bit longer than some places but was well worth waiting that little bit longer than the other pubs that microwave everything.

Service was fast and friendly and there is a big range of beers and wine to choose from.
More pubs like this please!

Not exactly a pub. Can't imagine coming in here for a drink.
That aside I won't even be coming back here for a food in a hurry. Shockingly terrible service (the staff appear to be busy doing nothing and I had to wait 10 minuted before I got the chips that were meant to go with my chicken!!!) & over-priced food. For the amount you pay for the food I was expecting something more than just food of a wetherspoons standard.
Avoid. Like. The. Plague.

Pretty soulless place, and far too arty-farty for my liking.

In fact, it hardly warrants being classified as a pub really. Parking can be difficult, as the car park fills up quickly, so it just goes to show that you can fool a lot of the people some of the time.

Be interesting to see how relatively expensive places like this fare in the recession.

Recently visited this so called country pub with friends. Couldn't believe that they didn't sell any bitter, just expensive designer fizz. The epitome of the corporate, soulless boozer. Will stick with The Swan in future.

Food expensive and drinks too and a rather drab pub there are better in Brentwood and the outside is a horrid green colour.

Found this to be a bit soulless after the refit (not that it was stunning before),but the beer selection has improved, some nice german stuff but far too expensive

Dined at the Nags Head tonight. The pub is very pleasant with modern decor, smoke free. Bevererages fine. Food and service very poor, having spent 2 years at catering college with some knowledge of reasonable food and service I can only describe both the food and service as poor. I have visited the pub before and the food was OK. Tonight I had a Rib eye steak, I asked for medium, came up well to well done. My wife had the chicken which was as dry as you can get. Wine was OK. I spoke to front of house staff and passed on my comments. It will take some persuading to return.

went there for the 1st time ever last week for a meal.

was fairly expensive, but i think the extra money was well worth it.

nice interior, and great food and a nice selection of drinks (not the usual fosters, carling, carlsberg lager rubbish). the staff were very friendly and helpful.

all in all it was a very pleasing experience with good food, and a nice atmosphere.

I, along with 6 others went to the Nags Head last Sunday 28 May for the first time since its refurbishment. We all found the food to be of a very high standard, along with the presentation. Service was also very good and nothing seemed to be any trouble for the staff.

Coming back again very soon with some more friends upon my recommendation.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime. Food was OK, young people behind the bar were really polite and tried their best, but were a little slow bringing the drinks. Unfortunately the manager thought was OK to berate and belittle his staff in front of customers. He also left me waiting around 5 or 6 minutes to pay my tab(45!!), but did not have the common decency to say 'please' or 'thank you' when serving me. Probably better off taking your hard earned cash somewhere where it will be more appreciated.

used to be terrible, there's a new manager now and it has improved no end, the food was very good.
