Easily the best garden pub in Horley/Gatwick area. Charming new landlady has added a cracking sunday lunch, improved menu & my favorite beer! (Dark Star - impressed). Recent refurbishment & friendly staff gives a lovely cosy atmosphere for meeting friends. There's also a kids play area outside for families.

I will have a pint of whatever Tommo5 has been drinking, he is not on this planet.

Bar billiards - are you sure? To my knowledge there hasn't been a table here since 2004. Was a good place to visit though, very roomy, though they always seemed to have problems with the toilets flooding. A haunt for dubious women, my mate was propositioned once - and he's in his seventies !

Pride, Cornish Coaster, Courage Best and Old Speckled Hen. Attractive looking pub, large beer garden. Flagstones in main bar, rooms with tables off both sides. Decent enough, map indicates pub in wrong place, it's further on under the railway bridge.

Visited the Farm House last week and i would not recommend this pub, the bar lady got the drinks wrong and was very grumpy, she didnt smile or apologize for her mistake instead gave us attitude then when we asked for her name she reluctantly replied back Sue and walked away

Disagree with the last two posts.

I use the pub 2 or 3 times a week despite it being a 2 mile walk. I am not in any way a local but I would say the Spitfire is always very good and well kept. Bar staff are always friendly and efficient.

I have not eaten in the restaurant however the bar food is perfectly acceptable. The best beer garden in Horley by a mile. The have good jazz bands in the garden in summer as well.

Best pub in Horley.

Cant disagree with the last review still no Guest ale and over priced food also noted the music was rather loud when i visited on Tuesday evening which put me off having another pint

Visited at the weekend, and was disappointed to see no guest ale on offer, just a very dull selection of Abbot, Spitfire, and Courage. Food was as usual uninspiring but edible; however price increases have put many main courses at over 10 which is a bit too much. An unusual innovation sees the pub offering takeaway style pizzas after 10pm which are served to your table in a pizza box! Is a plate too much to ask for?! The fact that bar staff (mostly female) wear branded polo shirt uniforms also adds to the down market feel of the place.

There remains little competition for pub trade in Horley, however the lack of effort made at each and every establishment is a bit depressing.

Went in again and it certainly was worth paying the extra money for the level of service and quality. Regulars friendly and nice to be with. Certainly my preferred Horley pub from now on.

Very well maintained by its present owner. staff very helpful and attentive. Lovely garden and good food on offer. Unfortunatly there is an element of regular women who drink too much and then act as if they own the place which sadly lowers the tone.

Good pub but definitely for the affluent only !!

Probably the best pub in Horley, always a few decent guest ales on and the food, although unimaginative, is honest pub grub. The garden is large and pleasant with a childrens play area- indoors there is a cosy atmosphere. The locals are an oldish crowd of Landshott residents.

If it was better priced this would definitely be the local of my choice. The staff are decent, food good, garden excellent but the prices.. I recently paid 45p more for a pint of lager than in another horley pub!

Our local pub,and it really is nice in the summer with the very spacious garden and being in the country a lot of birds visit the garden. The beer is good and the staff very attentive. It is also cosy in the winter with the real fire blazing. A good all round pub.
