Sorry to confound the doom merchants; on my visit, for a mid-afternoon pint, the beer was well-kept (I had Deuchar's IPA), service quick & pleasant, and not a note of aggro to be detected.

why the conspiracy against spoons ? how elitist can it be to be after a decent place in a town thats been run down for decades? beer was a1, especially with the beer festival on - i'd suggest all those breweries love the fact we can all try their beers, and do it in somewhere that isnt going to be full of druggies, mess heads and wasters (see home tavern) - is now called the wagon works & is one of the best spoons ive been in!!

This is the only pub in Eastleigh that's actually WORSE than Lucky Jims. No critical prose can ever do its awfulness justice.

The Home Tavern in Eastleigh is like an alcoholic boil on the arsehole of the world. Needs to be lanced.

Dire pub full of townies. Avoid like the plague. I have yet to find any redeeming feature in this pub with its bad beer, bad decor. It is basically a bar for getting drunk in.

This is one of the best pubs around. The new manager has reallyh made a difference. The DJs are great there & play a wide selection of music which makes things better than always listening to the same like you do in some other places. The doormen are nice & friendly. I have been there a few times & have never had a problem. If your out in Eastleigh then this is the place to go! Was there last Saturday, it was a wicked night. The DJ played some of the best tunes around, he must have been up for a laugh in his bright white jacket!

I visited this pub last Friday evening (18.02.05) for the first time with a group of friends to celebtrate my boyfriends 30th birthday. We did not arrive until about 23.15 and were in the pub for approx 20 minutes before the Manageress decided to instruct the Doorman to ask me to leave. When asked to leave and humiliated in front of all my friends I asked for an explanation as to why this was happening. He did not seem to know and when I asked if I could see the Manageress and ask her myself why she thought i should leave she was unavailable. I had a few I must admit but would never have dreamt of causing any problem in a bar and certainly was not staggering about the place. I will not bother going to this pub again and my advice to anyone thinking of going her is enter with caution if the Manageress decides she does not want you in there you may be evicted without explanation. It was not a nice welcome to a new area which left myself and my friends quite confused.

This pub has just got better and better. Not only do you have a great time on the weekend, you can also warm up on a Thursday with Quids In night - 1 to get in and 1 per drink!!! Thursday - Saturday it is open till 2am so there's no need to go to the other pantz places in Eastleigh whatsoever!!!

What more could you want?? You could want a decent pint of real ale. Not much chance of that when I was there. Pop round to the Hogshead (now Stones) in the High Street.

With "Non-Stop Party" on a Saturday and "Dr Cheese" on a Sunday, what more could you possibly want?
